The quarterly festive get-together for the girls graduating from Washington-Wilkes High School in l960 was held at the home of Mary McPherson on Saturday, January 10.

The table, covered in red linens, was graced with a bouquet of flowers presented by Mae Dell Huff. Crystal hurricane lamps and a crystal centerpiece finished the table that held a bounty of delicious covered dishes that included ham, casseroles, salad, soups, spaghetti, pies and cakes.

Mrs. McPherson offered the blessing and remembered classmates that were in the hospital, home recovering from surgery, and others battling cancer.

An afternoon of fellowship was enjoyed as members shared memories, old and new.

Attending with Mrs. McPherson were Mae Dell Huff of Athens, Shirley Crook of Lincolnton, Linda Threlkeld of Homer, Charlene Street of Martinez who was accompanied by daughter, Shannon Whitaker and her sons; Fran Thaxton of Oglethorpe County, Myrtle Sue Davis, Lois Poss, Joyce Holloway, Linda Standard and Mary Will Denard.

The next gathering is planned for April 11 at 12 noon. All girls from the W-WHS Class of l960 are welcome to attend.
