Cornelia Johnson Circle of FUMC meets January 6
The Cornelia Johnson Circle of First United Methodist Church met Tuesday, January 6, in the home of Pauline Bell.
Mrs. Bell and co-hostess, Kay Bray, served delicious refreshments to members as they arrived.
Laura Toburen presided. She welcomed members and led the opening prayer.
During the business meeting, it was announced that the Zimbabwe project, spearheaded by the ladies who were assisted by the entire church family, was very successful.
Committee reports were given and included the number of visits to shut-ins.
It was announced that the annual baby recognition for Mission Sunday would be held February 15 during the morning worship service.
Plans were made for the seniors' meal in February and members discussed the project for the Sunday mission luncheon in March.
It was noted that the next meeting will be February 3 at the home of Marcia Delaney and Linda Smith will serve as co-hostess.
Rachel Arnold presented the program from the study "Women Jesus Can Teach" and focused on the chapter about the woman at the well.
