Finnells to speak on Black education
In celebration of Black History Month, long-time Wilkes County educators Eddie and Kay Finnell will a present a program on highlights of "Black History of Education in Wilkes County." The program is set for February 8, 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Robert Toombs House State Historic Site, 216 E. Robert Toombs Ave. in Washington. This program is open to the public. This meeting of the Washington-Wilkes Historical Society is set this month on the second Sunday rather than the first Sunday as is usual, Curator Marcia Campbell said.
