4-H announces camp opportunities for this summer

The following information on summertime camps for members of the Wilkes County 4-H Club has been supplied by Audra Chapman, Wilkes County 4-H and Youth Development County Agent.

Junior Camp - will be held June 1-5 at Fortson 4-H Camp. It is open to seventh and eighth graders. Cost is $350 with deposit of $125 due at registration. You will go to White Water Water Park; spend a day at Stone Mountain including Sky Hike (ropes course), 3D theater, sky buckets to the top of the mountain, and train ride; Thursday Night Thunder at Atlanta Motor Speedway; pizza party; and souvenir t-shirts and tote bag. Limited number of spaces.

Senior Camp - will be held June 29-July 3 at Wahsega 4-H Center in Dahlonega. Senior Camp is open to students in grades 9-12. Cost is $350 with deposit of $125 at registration. Limited number of spaces.

Cloverleaf Camp - will be held June 29-July 3, at Burton 4-H Center on Tybee Island. Cloverleaf Camp is open to students in grades 4-6. You will have fun classes, make new friends, swimming, go on a riverboat tour, dolphin cruise, and other fun activities. Cost is $310.00 with deposit of $90 due at sign-up. We have 24 spaces.

Marine Resource Camp - will be held July 6-10 at Jekyll Island 4-H Center. The camp is open to students in grades 6-8. Cost is $365 with deposit of $!00 due at sign-up. You will go to Cumberland Island; ride on the Lady Jane shrimp boat; Summer Waves water park; special classes such as shark dissection; a seafood dinner; and a souvenir. Limited number of spaces.

Horse School - will be held June 14-18 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry. There is an application to fill out and if you are accepted you will be notified. Open to anyone who has an interest in the horse industry and has access to a horse. For more information contact the 4-H Office. You are required to take a horse with you to camp.
