Funeral services for Mary "Mag" Lumpkin, 85, were held Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the White Rock Missionary Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. G.L. Avery officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. She died February 4.

Mrs. Lumpkin was a native of Wilkes County and the daughter of the late Roberta Hilliard Sims. She was the widow of L.M. Lumpkin and a member of the White Rock Missionary Baptist Church. She was the historian for the Hilliard Brown family reunion beginning in 1988.

Survivors include a sister, Estella Browner of Washington; two brothers, Jim Frank Barnett and Aaron Cofer of Washington; and a special cousin, Gladys Gibson of Macon.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
