Wandering coyote evicted from Pure station
Bubba Carter of the Department of Natural Resources lifts an injured coyote from his hiding place in a gas station on East Robert Toombs Avenue Friday. Folks were surprised at high noon when an injured coyote ran across the street and into the garage of the Pure Oil station on the corner and hid under an air compressor. Everybody in the garage cleared out let the professionals, including Carter, Deputy Jerry Hackney, and Wilkes Animal Control officer Gloria Wheatley, handle the critter. Wheatley said that the coyote's leg was badly broken, and the animal was humanely put down. |
