Third graders jump for healthy hearts

Thirty-eight third graders at Washington-Wilkes Primary School raised a total of $1,313 for the American Heart Association by jumping rope for donations. Top fund-raisers for "Jump Rope for Heart" were Wes Tanner (center), first place; Walker Moore (left), second place; and Erin McAvoy, third. The 38 third graders raised a total raised $1313. Wilkes County EMS Director Blake Thompson was a guest speaker.
