C.J. Goldman of Lincoln County showed the Grand Champion steer at Saturday's 55th Annual Washington Area Junior Steer and Heifer Show. Seven Wilkes County students showed steers and/or heifers in the 2009 Washington Area Junior Steer and Heifer Show at the McGill- Woodruff Agriculture Center in Washington Saturday, February 28. They were Greg Callaway, Tommy Howard, Sheena Kopecky, Brett Lunceford, Chelsea Tamsi, Danielle Thornton, and Kelsi Thornton.

Wilkes County FFA member Greg Callaway showed the Reserve Champion Steer.

C.J. Goldman of Lincolnton showed the grand champion of the steer show.

Matt Simmons of the Oglethorpe County FFA won the Supreme Champion with his Chi Influence heifer. Reserve Supreme Champion Heifer was won by Tyler Arnold of the Madison County FFA, with his Limousin heifer.
