LA-ANN RUTHERFORD Wilkes Eye Center People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is boycotting and picketing certain restaurants that serve chicken because it says the chickens should not be slaughtered but gently put to sleep. Restaurant operators say that facilities to do what PETA wants would cost millions of dollars each, and consumers would ultimately have to pay much more for their meals that contain chicken. How much do you think it matters how chickens raised for food are killed?
