The Washington-Wilkes Parks and Recreation Department has announced new evening hours at the gym beginning April 1.

On Monday evenings from 5:00 until 8:30 p.m., the gym will be open for adults to play basketball and volleyball. A $3.00 fee is required.

On Thursday evenings from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., and Saturday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., the gym will be open for children 12 and older. The fee for participation will be $1.00. The children must be picked up no later than 8 p.m. on Thursdays and 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

The parks and recreation department expects parents to have personal insurance to cover any accident or injury that may occur. Any child who misbehaves or does not follow the rules will be asked to leave.
