Transforming Life Ministries "Master's Monday" Bible Study will convene at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator each Monday evening, 6:30-7:30 p.m. The public is invited.

Wilsbary's Book, Bake, and Plant Sale is scheduled at the Mary Willis Library Friday, May 1, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The sale is sponsored by Friends of the Mary Willis Library to benefit library programs. The Washington-Wilkes Tiger boys and girls region track meet will be held Monday, April 27, at Laney High School in Augusta.

Mulberry Baptist Church will have its annual men and women's day program Sunday, April 26, 3 p.m. Rev. Alvin Rivers and the St. Luke Baptist Church family will be in charge of the services.

Transforming Life Ministries Sunday Night Worship will be on May 3, 7 p.m., at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator, 212 E. Robert Toombs Avenue. Special music will be provided by Minister Michelle White and Marquis Jones.

Pompey's Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate its 139th anniversary May 24, 11:30 a.m. Dinner will be served.

The Little River United Methodist Charge Relay for Life Team will present a variety show, "Hillbillies Meet Hollywood," at Smyrna United Methodist Church Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m. All donations will benefit the American Cancer Society. Light refreshments will be served and childcare is provided.

The Reese J. Booker and Rosa Grant Warthen Memorial Service Scholarship Fundraising Program will be held at Mark's Tabernacle Baptist Church Sunday, May 24, 6 p.m. Rev. Dwayne Crew of Fort Valley, son of Mrs. Mary (Polly) Crew and the late Rev. Willie Crew, will be the guest speaker. The Fort Valley University Concert Choir is scheduled to perform. The quarterly Wilkes County Community Blood Drive sponsored by the Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in conjunction with the Shepeard Community Blood Center will be held Thursday, May 21, 2-7 p.m., at The First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Heard's Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate its deacon board anniversary Sunday, April 26, 4 p.m. Rev. Charles Belton and members of Mt. Carmel and Cherry Grove Baptist churches will be special guests.

The following athletic dates and events at W-WCHS will be coming up in April: April : April 23, community wide meet and greet with Coach Hutto, 7 p.m., in the school cafeteria; April 30, parents meeting with Coach Hutto for any athlete playing football during the 2009 season, 7 p.m., in the school cafeteria.

The House of Worship will have a prayer and praise service April 19, 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Minister Stephanie Smith of the Pole Branch Baptist Church. Music will be by the Clark family.

The Annual Classic South Horse Fair will be held Saturday, April 25, at Callaway Plantation. The fair will include representation of more than 20 different horse breeds in the Classic South. For more information visit the web site at 222.cshorse.org.

The Washington-Wilkes Arts Festival will be held April 24-26. Francine Reed will be at the Pope Center at 8 p.m. on Friday. There will be live music from local artists on The Square on Saturday. The Washington- Wilkes Primary School Choir and the Augusta Choral will perform at the Pope Center on Sunday.

The Cruise-In sponsored by the Memory Lane Cruisers will be held Saturday, May 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. The Cruise-In is open to antique cars, hot rods, trucks, and motorcycles. There will be food, prizes, fun for the family. and music by Tommy Landrum's Cruzin' to the Oldies. The first 100 to register will receive dash plaques.

There will be a barbecue plate sale for the Meet & Greet with Coach Hutto on April 23, The fundraising event is sponsored by the Tiger Club. Tickets can be purchased from football players and coaches for $8 each.

Football equipment will be issued to all rising seniors and juniors participating in spring football practice at W-WCHS on April 27, beginning after school.

The Flint Hill Baptist Church Mother Board will celebrate its anniversary Sunday, May 5, along with regular services at 11:45 a.m.

Mark's Tabernacle Baptist Church will celebrate its 111th anniversary May 3, 2 p.m. Rev. Larry Hill, pastor and founder of the World of God Ministries in Atlanta, will be the minister for the occasion. Rev. Hill is a native of Washington.

The Patient Education Staff of Wills Memorial Hospital will be hosting a Diabetic Support Group meeting April 23, 2 p.m., in the Nash Library. The focus of this meeting will be healthy diet. There will be a National Day of Prayer celebration on The Square in Downtown Washington at noon on Thursday, May 7. The event is sponsored by the Wilkes Ministers United.
