Spring football and golf tournament slated for big Tiger weekend in May

After a busy April full of get-acquainted and organizational activities, the third weekend in May will be a big one for Washington-Wilkes Tiger fans - especially football fans and golfers. Following the Tigers' spring game on Friday, May 15, the Tiger Club will host a golf tournament on Saturday, May 16.

Three-man teams will play the 18-hole select-shot tournament which will begin at 1 p.m. at the Washington-Wilkes Country Club. All proceeds will benefit the total athletic program at Washington- Wilkes High School. Entry fee is $50 per player or $150 per team.

Additional points are:

l Each player may purchase two mulligans for $5 each.

l Each player may purchase two red tees for $5 each.

l String may be purchased on holes nine and 18 for $1 per foot.

l Payouts and flights will be determined by the number of teams in the field. A full field is considered to be 18 teams.
