The Washington Historical Museum will have free admission to the museum to all Wilkes County Residents on the first Saturday of each month. Just show your identification and it's free.

. Members of Heard's Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate the 131st anniversary of the church on Sunday, June 7. Sunday School begins at 10:30 a.m., the worship service at 11:30. Rev. Paul A. Hull is the pastor and will bring the message.

Heard's Chapel Baptist Church will have a children's day program on Sunday, June 14, 3 p.m. Rev. Demetrius Porter and the New Hope Baptist Church will be in charge of services.

Rev. Glen Kolhagen, pastor of the Washington Presbyterian Church, will be leading a bereavement support group on the second Wednesday of each month in the Nash Library at Wills Memorial Hospital. Time is 1 p.m. The program is practical based and not theologically based. Confidentiality is protected. The next meeting will be Wednesday, June 10. The public is invited.

Rehoboth Baptist Church, Metasville, will have Vacation Bible School May 31-June 5, 6:00-8:30 p.m. Signup will be held Saturday, May 30, 5:00 p.m. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be available along with music, singing, and funtime.

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Ushers Ministry will celebrate its anniversary June 7, 2:30 p.m. Rev. Lorenzo Gillard, Pastor of Cade Chapel in Elberton, will be the guest minister.

The First Baptist Church, Washington, will have Vacation Bible School June 1-5, for four year olds through the fifth grade, 9 a.m.-12 noon.

The First United Methodist Church of Washington will have Vacation Bible School June 7-11, 6-8:30 p.m.

The Washington Lions Club will have barbecued chicken available on Saturday, May 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the clubhouse on Spring Street. Tickets for eat-in or take-out are available from any member of the Lions Club.

New Salem Baptist Church will celebrate the 137th anniversary of the church on May 31st, and June 7. Guest ministers for the services are Rev. James Walker of Mt. Nebo and Live Oak Baptist churches, Ailey; and Rev. G.L. Avery of White Rock and Union Spring Baptist churches. The services will begin at 3 p.m. with the fellowship meal being served at 2:00. Pastor Reynolds and the congregation extend an invitation to everyone to attend.

Lyonsville Baptist Church will have its annual family and friends day Sunday, June7, 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Ozzy Hanson and his congregation will be present.

The New Sutton Temple Baptist Church will have a youth extravaganza. Youth revival services will be held May 28-29, 7 p.m. Minister D. Cullars is the guest speaker. On Saturday, May 30, 12 noon, there will be the youth explosion. Lynn Few from Athens will be the guest speaker. Every praise dance team is asked to be on the program and help make this a great event.

Terri Lane will make her first television debut on NBC Augusta with Jay Jeffries May 28, 11 a.m. She will be speaking about her book on Gullytown.

The Lexington Avenue Church of Christ will have a produce giveaway Saturday, May 30, 11 a.m., along with group singing at the church in Washington.

New Salem Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 15-19, 7:30 p.m. There will be classes for all ages. The theme is "Go Win With Jesus."

The Wills Memorial Hospital Tea and Learn on Thursday, June 18, at 2:30 p.m., will feature a program, Internet Crimes, presented by Tony Williamson of Thomson, GBI.

The Patient Education Staff of Wills Memorial Hospital will be hosting a diabetic support group meeting May 28, 2 p.m., in the Nash Library. The focus of the meeting will be diet and carbohydrate counting. The group is open to the public for diabetics and their caregivers. Make reservations by calling 706-678-9296.
