Canning class set for beginners but availability limited

The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension will have a class on "Beginning Canning" on June 30 and July 7. The class is for anyone who would like to learn to preserve food at home.
Cost for the class is $30 which includes the textbook, "So Easy to Preserve." Topics to be covered include both types of canning techniques (water bath and pressure), freezing and drying fruits and vegetables.
Each class member will have an opportunity to participate in handson preparation demonstrations. and will take home their own canning jar of goodies.
Registration is at the Lincoln County Extension Office located behind Georgia Power Co. offices in Lincolnton, before June 22. Class size is limited.
