Wilkes Sunday School Union meets at Mulberry Baptist

The Wilkes County Sunday School Union convened with Mulberry Baptist Church where Rev. Robert Crawford served as host pastor and Fred Willis served as host superintendent.

The session was opened by the vice-president, Johnny Bankston. Devotional services were led by Larry Smith and Grady Norman.

The sermon was preached by Rev. Demetrius Porter entitled "I Once Was Damaged, but I'm Still Standing." The Benediction was led by Rev. Porter.

The Saturday session was opened by President Charles Morgan. Donald Hulin and Larry Campbell led the devotional services. Maurice Willis was the youth devotional leader. The welcome was by Essie Cofer.

The 45-minute Bible lesson was taught by Jamie Johnson, Melba Hill was the youth teacher. Rev. James White Jr. delivered the doctrinal sermon.

During the youth session, Tavin Binns presided as president and Jasmine Heard as secretary. The inspirational address was given by Dauri Binns entitled "Why God Closes Doors."

Rev. Ed Anderson led the Bible Bowl and the benediction was by Rev. White.

President Morgan opened the Sunday morning session. D.W. Dunn and Willie Hampton led the devotional services and Charles Morgan presided as Sunday school superintendent. Singing was by the Mulberry/Springfield choirs.

The missionary sermon was delivered by Rev. Norman Williams entitled "Can God Be Trusted?" Rev. Williams led the benediction.

The next Union session will convene August 28-30 at Hilliard Station Baptist Church.

Officers of the union in addition to Charles Morgan, president, are Johnny Bankston, vice-president; Robin Booker, secretary; Melvene Binns, assistant secretary; and Robert Walton, treasurer.
