Allison Land John Echols Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Standard of Washington announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Land, to John Echols, son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Echols, also of Washington.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Moon of Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson Standard of Tignall, and the late Imogene Paschall of Washington.

She graduated from Athens Technical College in 2006 as a Certified EMT-Basic and is employed at Internal Medicine and Nephrology Associates in Washington.

Mr. Echols is the grandson of William Higginbotham and the late Lillie Holloway Higginbotham of Washington and Mrs. Jean Echols and the late William M. Echols of Tignall

He is a 2003 graduate of Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School and is employed by Rayle Electric Membership Corporation of Washington.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, August 15, at 4 p.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Washington.
