Young players learn basic, intermediate basketball skills
Camp number two of four Blue and Gold basketball camps is being held this week at the Washington- Wilkes Parks and Recreation Department, with 23 children age 11 to 13 attending.
The children are being taught by former Washington-Wilkes basketball star Lucious Stewart; former Washington-Wilkes football player Dwayne Hampton; community helper Frank Gaye; and softball and basketball coach Angel Heard.
The coaches are teaching the children the basics as well as more intermediate basketball skills. Camp lasts for three hours every day and coaches are expecting great things form those attending. The camp offers equal opportunities to have fun and to learn the major instructions of the game.
After this week, there will be two more camps to attend. June 15-19 will be for ages 14-16; and June 22- 26 will be for ages sic and seven.
