'Boomerang Express' is theme of Phillips Mill VBS June 15-19
Phillips MiIl Baptist Church held a successful Vacation Bible School June 15-19. The theme for the week was "Boomerang Express: It all comes back to Jesus.
The average attendance of children for the week was 58. An offering was collected each evening. Half of the total offering will go to an orphanage in India that the WMU of the church supports; and the other half will be sent to the HEART Ministry in Lavonia.
Charlotte Waller was director of the school and expressed appreciation to the following people who helped in the success:
2-5 Year Olds -- Christy Brock, Paula Denard, and Jessica Echols.
First and Second Grades -- Lynda McDonald and Deana Sherrer.
Third and Fourth Grades -- Angie Nicholson and Rhonda Newsome.
Fifth and Sixth Grade -- Jill Callaway.
Seventh Grade and up -- Sherri McAvoy and Debra Davis.
Music -- Bes Moore and Mary Jane Scarborough.
Crafts -- Angie Roth (assistant to director), Rhonda Newberry, and Becky Mann.
Kitchen -- Jackie Echols, Joyce West, and Shirley Dunn.
Interim Pastor Jamie Callaway was present each night.
