Amos Martin Invitational set for July 4-5 at Country Club
      The 82nd playing of the Amos Martin Invitational golf tournament is set for this weekend, July 4-5 at the Washington-Wilkes Country Club. Last year's champ, Brandon Berry is positioned to become the tournament's ninth back-to-back winner if he can repeat or better his performance from 2008.

Lady Tigers softball summer season will resume this month
      The W-W Lady Tigers softball team suffered a 1-10 disappointment against Thomson last week but will have its chance at revenge when the summer season starts up again later this month. The ladies' next home game is set for July 28 when the Bulldogs return for a rematch.

      The Washington-Wilkes Tiger Club and the new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Lee Hutto have begun a membership drive encouraging all current, former, and prospective members to join up for the 2009-2010 year in support of all the athletic programs offered to young athletes at Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School.

Bulldogs celebrate at end of 'fun-filled' season
      The Minor League Bulldog Little League team celebrated the end of the season with a cookout and scrimmage game on Saturday, June 13. The celebration began with a scrimmage game between the Bulldog players, coaches, parents, siblings, grandparents, and close friends. Everyone enjoyed this fun-filled game. The players enjoyed sharing a few baseball tips with their parents.
