Steve Foster (left), a crime scene specialist for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, warned members of the Washington Rotary Club to be very cautious when reading and responding to internet or email offers or requests for personal information. He said that while there are remedies for some scams such as purchases with no delivery, or identity theft, there are others for which there is no remedy. These include the common email lottery scam, threats, and "Spanish Prison" type scams. Foster urged anyone with a complaint about internet crime to file a report at www.ic3.gov. Roger Walker was program host for the day.
