New Farmers Market sees crowds

Farmers Market vendor and organizer Sandy LeGette welcomes customers Saturday morning to the new Farmers Market behind the Wilkes County courthouse. A dozen vendors set up in the shade early Saturday and saw a good stream of customers all morning. "This is growing every week," LeGette said. "We really appreciate Commission Chairman Sam Moore letting us use this nice cool spot behind the courthouse. People are really discovering the market now, and I think it's only going to grow." Vendors offered a wide variety of products from Tink's Wilkes County grass-fed beef to fresh-picked berries, tomatoes, squash, fresh eggs, used books, and more.
