Katherine Alicia McKellar marries James Deo Stewart
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude McKellar of Washington. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Karen Stewart of Dearing. The bride, escorted by her father, was lovely in a strapless organza tea-length gown embellished with beaded trim at the waist. She accented her dress with pearl jewelry, her "something borrowed" from her friend, Mrs. Chad Thornton. Her bouquet was of hand-tied calla lilies with cream satin ribbon. She also carried a handkerchief of her late great-grandmother as her "something old." The bridegroom's boutonniere was a mini calla lily. The aisle was marked with hurricane globe holders surrounded with ferns. The wedding setting was flanked with ferns on moss-covered columns. Genevieve Coe of Washington was the harpist for the ceremony. Reception Following the ceremony, guests attended a reception in the Fitzpatrick Hotel Ballroom. Guests dined on turkey, ham, roast beef, mixed green salad, macaroni and cheese, sautéed broccoli, rolls and sweet tea. The wedding cake, an all-white three-tiered confection, featured delicate dots and the couple's initials. It was topped with a floral arrangement of mini calla lilies. Tables were decorated with white cloths and brown wrought iron globed pillow candleholders on round mirrors with plumosus fern around each base. Joining the couple in celebrating were Mr. and Mrs. Claude McKellar, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Drinkard, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Echols, Bailey and Jake, Terry and Sydney McClain and Britteny Blissett of Washington, Mollie Holt and David Okurowski of Augusta, Mrs. Karen Stewart and Gary Adams of Dearing, Mr. and Mrs. James Newsome, Mrs. Cindy Nelson and Stephanie Trent of Thomson, Christopher Stewart of Keysville, Lauren Lyman of Wrens and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Bailey of Anderson, S.C. Following a wedding trip to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple is residing in North Augusta, S.C. |
