Alexis McGregor Colvard Brandon Gilford Rhodes Greg and Stacey Colvard of Washington announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexis McGregor, of Brooklyn, N.Y., to Brandon Gilford Rhodes, also of Brooklyn, son of David and Bonnie Rhodes of Marietta, Ohio.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Eleanor Cobb of Atlanta and the late Howard Toale and Richard Colvard of Hiawassee and the late Patricia Colvard.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Georgia State University in Atlanta and is employed by Situation Interactive in Manhattan.

Mr. Rhodes is the grandson of Don and Jeanne Rhodes and Lawrence and Bonita Gilford of Pennsylvania.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and is employed by News Corp, also in Manhattan.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, August 1, at 3:30 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Washington.
