Lady Tigers win a couple
 Last Thursday, July 9, the W-W Varsity Tiger girls softball team traveled to Harlem and swept a doubleheader. In game one, the ladies beat Harlem 5-0. Cayla Gilland pitched a complete game shutout of the Bulldogs and Yakira Banks led the Tigers on offense going 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Also collecting hits were Lauren Chafin (2-3), Nikki Freeman (2-3), Ashley West (1-3), Lauren Harrison (2-3), and Alaina Webber (1-3). In game two, the Tigers beat Laney 15-0 in just three innings. Lauren Chafin picked up the win for the Tigers. Next the Tigers play Harlem today (July 16) at 8 p.m. in Harlem. Pictured above is Lauren Harrison about to smack the ball for a hit. |
