Construction begins on hospital 'regeneration'

Phil Robb, Tom Beard, and Jack Davis look over and work on a silt fence as construction activities begin at Wills Memorial Hospital. The regeneration project will include a new inpatient wing and specialty center, in addition to the renovation of the existing emergency room, rehab therapy, respiratory, and radiology units. Construction is expected to take approximately 28 months. WMH Administrator Marvin Goldman announced that the parking lot on the corner of Spring Street and Hospital Drive is closed during construction. Patients and visitors are asked to park in the front parking lots on Gordon Street or in designated parking along Hospital Drive. A more detailed announcement regarding building plans and groundbreaking will follow at a later date.
