Audra Chapman guest of honor at kitchen, linen shower Aug. 2
Audra Chapman, bride-elect of Justin Armour, was guest of honor at an outdoor kitchen and linen shower Sunday afternoon, August 2, at the home of Carol Souther on the Thomson Road.
Hostesses for the occasion with Mrs. Souther were Peggy Jones, Jennifer Holton, Kim White, Julia Ann Holloway and Lynn Connell. Co-hostesses were Leslie Souther, Emily Connell, Ashlyn and Alyssa Holley, and Shelby White.
For the shower Miss Chapman wore a sundress in Royal blue, black and white stripes. She was presented a corsage of a white daisy with a black center finished with blue ribbon in keeping with the color scheme of the party.
The blue and white color scheme was carried out with blue and white checked cloths. Bouquets of white daisies decorated these tables placed under the pavilion around the pool.
Guests enjoyed churns of delicious homemade sherbet and chocolate ice cream with Hershey's Kisses-topped peanut butter cookies and brownies.
Guests who included many of the bride-elect's teachers and 4-H friends signed her scrapbook as they arrived.
The hostesses presented Miss Chapman a red casserole dish and matching rooster dish towel.
Miss Chapman presented them thank you gifts of monogrammed serving plates filled with cheese straws and sandies.
Thirty-five guests were invited. Special guests included the brideelect's mother, Stephanie Chapman of Washington, and grandmother, Audrey Goldman of Lincolnton; and the prospective bridegroom's mother, Denise Armour of Rayle.
