Rebecca Blackmon Hooton weds Evan Jerome Stover Jr. on July 25
Mr. and Mrs. Evan Jerome Stover Jr. Rebecca Blackmon Hooton and Evan Jerome Stover Jr. of Washington exchanged wedding vows in an impressive double-ring ceremony in the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Washington Saturday, July 25, at eleven-thirty o'clock in the morning. Rev. Gale Seibert of Washington officiated the ceremony in the presence of the couple's immediate families.
The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James H. Blackmon Jr. of Washington.
The bridegroom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Evan Jerome Stover of Clarkesville.
The altar held two floral arrangements of calla lilies, green roses and hydrangeas and ferns and was decorated by Kermit Hocutt and Mrs. Tom Wells of Washington.
Mrs. Bob Guin of Washington presented the wedding music and played "Majesty" for the couple's processional. Soloist, Darren Pharr of Washington, sang "Surely the Presence of the Lord".
Ella Gaither of Canton, granddaughter of the bridegroom, served as the flower girl.
The bride's attire was finished with her bouquet of calla lilies. She also had a sixpence from London, a gift of the bridegroom's daughter, Anna Stover. Luncheon
Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Stover entertained their wedding guests at a luncheon at their home on Greens Circle in Washington.
Tables for the luncheon were set with beige cloths, black crystal, black starters and beige dinner plates. Round glass bowls of magnolia leaves atop mirrors centered the tables.
Serving were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wells, Kermit Hocutt and the bride's aunt, Mrs. Robert Wallace, all of Washington.
Following a wedding trip to Highlands, N.C., Mr. and Mrs. Stover are making their home on Greens Circle in Washington.
