The 89th annual Walker family reunion for the descendants of Confederate soldier Daniel Lumpkin Walker and Margaret Elizabeth Stevenson Walker, will be held at Fishing Creek Baptist Church Sunday, August 16.

The speaker will be Tom Poland, a native of Lincoln County and the son of Ruth Walker Poland and the late John M. Poland Jr. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and writes professionally, including magazine features, books, and a weekly column for The Lincoln Journal.

All connected families are invited to attend and bring their favorite food, old photographs and documents to share. A covered dish lunch will be served at 1 p.m.
