We would like to thank Sparky and Mary Newsome for the outstanding publicity and posters which resulted in the huge success of the Learning in Retirement Open House last Tuesday. Also essential to the success were John Horton and his staff who offered the Towne Car Showroom for this event and the local merchants.

Fifty-eight attendees gained information from local artisans and facilitators in eleven special interest areas that are scheduled for the LIR fall/winter/spring programs.

The support and enthusiasm of Wilkes County, indeed, makes being a part of the volunteer community a gratifying experience.
