Funeral services for Betty M. Casper, 83, of Poway, California, were held August 28, 2009, at El Camino Memorial Park Chapel in San Diego, California. She died August 18.

Mrs. Casper was born in Ava, Missouri, and was the widow of Rex Garrett Casper. She was active in scouting in the Clairemont Mesa area of San Diego and in Poway after she moved there in 1977. She was a longtime member of The Lutheran Church of the Incarnation in Poway.

Survivors include two sons, Bob Casper of Rancho Bernardo, California, and David Casper of San Diego; three daughters, Sandy Grome of Austin, Texas, Linda Markham of Prescott, Arizona, and Sherri McAvoy of Washington-Wilkes; 11 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.
