Alexis McGregor Colvard weds Brandon Gilford Rhodes Aug. 1

Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Gilford Rhodes Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Gilford Rhodes Alexis McGregor Colvard and Brandon Gilford Rhodes of Brooklyn, N.Y., were united in marriage in a lovely double-ring ceremony Saturday, August 1, at three-thirty o'clock in the afternoon at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Washington. The Reverend Doctor Denni Moss of Washington officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Greg and Stacey Colvard of Washington.

The bridegroom is the son of David and Bonnie Rhodes of Marietta, Ohio.

Eleanor Blackmon of Washington was organist for ceremony.

Evan Rhodes of Marietta, Ohio, served as his brother's best man. His brother, Colin Rhodes, also of Marietta, was the usher-groomsman.

Hayley Colvard of Washington was her sister's maid of honor. Her deep red A-line dress was accented by her bouquet of red roses.

Katie Jones of Lilburn served as the bridesmaid. Her deep red dress featured a strapless bodice. Her flowers were also red roses.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride was radiant in her long white A-line gown that featured light beading on the gown and straps. The A-line design ended in a long train.

Her illusion veil complemented her gown.

She carried a bouquet of deep red roses.

For sentiment the bride wore a Monopoly piece of the "hat" on a necklace and the bridegroom's cuff links featured the Monopoly piece, the "shoe."

For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Colvard chose a red dress.

The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Rhodes, was attired in a red floral print.

Reception

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents entertained at a reception in the Parish House of the church.

Tending the guest register were Frank Mills and Ponyo Jenkins, both of Atlanta.

White tulle and small lights were featured over the doorways. Beautiful arrangements of orange and red roses also held complementing flowers. Tables were scattered with white and red rose petals. Also on the tables were cranberry-like objects floating in bowls, tea lights, disposable cameras and favors.

The three-tiered wedding cake, made by the bride's sister, Hayley Colvard, was decorated with pink and yellow roses. Serving the cake was Cathy Ferguson of Atlanta.

Guests enjoyed a Southern dinner.

Assisting in serving were Claude Bukowski and George Berger of Atlanta, and Josh Cosby of Washington.

Following a wedding trip to Savannah, Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes are making their home in Atlanta.

Rehearsal Dinner

David and Bonnie Rhodes were hosts at a rehearsal dinner at Southern Elegance Bed and Breakfast Inn on West Robert Toombs Avenue.

Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, champagne for toasting and a time of fellowship.
