Sarah Davis honored for long life by Seventh-Day Adventist Church

Davis proudly displays the plaque presented to her by the Washington Seventh-Day Adventist Church in recognition of her being their oldest member. Sarah E. Davis of Crawfordville was recognized by the Washington Seventh-Day Adventist Church as being the oldest member of the church. The honor was bestowed on her by Pastor Walter Gordon of Atlanta during services held Saturday, August 22.

Mrs. Davis celebrated her 101st birthday with family and friends on June 8.

Mrs. Davis was presented a plaque in honor of the occasion. Other senior members of the church were also recognized.

A luncheon followed the service.

Mrs. Davis's daughter, Udia Foster of Crawfordville, was in attendance for the service. Other family members attending included two of her grandchildren, George Foster of Crawfordville and Georgette Wright of Rayle, and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Foster of South Carolina. A host of church friends were also present for the service and luncheon.

Mrs. Davis attributes her long life to her love for the Lord and her love of singing praises to His glory.
