Eliana Thomas celebrates first birthday Aug. 14
Eliana Ruth Thomas, daughter of Craig and Jenny Thomas of Maryville, Tenn., celebrated her first birthday on Friday, August 14.
Eliana was treated to a birthday dinner the following evening at her home. Her polka dot party theme was carried out in the table covers and other party accessories. Her birthday cake and her own special little cake, both made by her mother, featured colorful primary colored-polka dots. The numeral "1" topped her larger cake in addition to the writing "Happy Birthday Eliana." The cake was enjoyed after a birthday supper of grilled chipotle lime chicken served with delicious accompaniments.
Celebrating with Eliana and her parents were her paternal grandparents, Dave and Erla Thomas, also of Maryville, and Andy and Joanna Tinker of Alcoa, Tenn.
The following weekend Eliana and her parents visited her maternal grandparents, Edward and Susan Pope, and on Saturday, August 22, she was treated to a birthday celebration and cookout.
Again a polka dot theme was used with polka dot accessories. Primarycolored balloons decorated the party table. Eliana's larger polka dot cake was enjoyed by her guests while she was treated to her own polka dot cupcake. Ice cream was also served with cake after a cookout of grilled hamburgers and all the trimmings.
Celebrating with Eliana, her parents and grandparents, were great-grandmother, Bernie Pope, and uncle, aunts and cousins, and Edward, Susan, Wesley and Eliza Pope, of Washington; and Katherine, Anna and Caroline Gentry of Athens.
On both occasions Eliana sported her "I Am One" birthday hat.
