Washington Manor gets regular visitors from local churches
A group of ladies and children from the Little River Charge of United Methodist Churches - Bethel, Mt. Zion, and Smyrna - visits the residents at Washington Manor in Washington each Wednesday.
The visitors lead the residents in playing bingo and the residents enjoy the game and the prizes. There is also special music for them to enjoy and they are often entertained by music in the form of sing-alongs with volunteers and songs sung by the children. Any resident who so desires is pampered with a manicure and/or a pedicure.
Rev. Richard Broom is pastor of the Little River Charge and visits the Manor often. All of the volunteers enjoy the experience. Most of the prizes are donated by local businesses.
Anyone who would like to participate is invited to "Bingo Day" at Washington Manor. The fun begins at 2 p.m. each Wednesday.
