Hannah Wright was guest of honor at a surprise baby shower at the home of Gail Stewart on Saturday, September 12.

Hostesses for the happy occasion were Mrs. Wright's aunt, Angie Williams of Lexington, and cousin, Cody Paul of Carlton.

In honor of the occasion Mrs. Wright was presented a corsage of daisies tied with brown and blue ribbon.

A chocolate brown with baby blue polka dots color scheme was used in decorating. The table was covered in baby blue with a white Battenburg cutwork overlay. Centering the table was a porcelain baby boy doll with a bouquet of blue and white balloons attached with a wooden initial "W" in blue polka dots. Another focal point of the table was the cake, a chocolate confection trimmed in blue and decorated with baby bracelets and rattles. "Patty cake, patty cake, baker's man" was inscribed on the cake also.

Enjoyed with the cake were cheese straws, nuts, bacon dip with Fritos, and banana slush punch.

Guests placed their gifts for Mrs. Wright in a wooden family cradle that featured a large brown and blue polka dotted bow and balloons. The bow was a gift from Mrs. Wright's sister, Alyssa Roth, that will be used to help announce the baby's birth within the next few weeks.

The hostesses presented Mrs. Wright a Pack 'N' Play and Mrs. Wright's daughter, Ava, a "Big Sister" t-shirt.

Special guests included Alyssa Roth of Salisbury, N.C.; prospective grandmothers, Gail Stewart of Rayle and Judy Wright of Washington; grandmother, Kathryn Shedd, and great-aunt, Peggy Walker, also of Rayle.
