Beth Lannae Rainey honored at stork shower September 19

The home of Kathy Lindsey on South Alexander Avenue was the scene of a drop-in baby shower honoring Beth Lannae Rainey and Baby Girl Rainey on Saturday morning, September 19.

Hostesses for the occasion with Mrs. Lindsey were her daughters, Taylor Lindsey and Hillary Lindsey of Nashville, Tenn., and Lauren Lindsey Fowler of Statesboro. Also assisting were Nancy Barnett, Jeri Denard, Polly Fievet, Vicki Harvey, Lisa Lindsey Isham, and Alice Lindsey of Washington, Jane Lindsey Echols of Tignall, Laura Lindsey Williamson of Thomson; and Catherine Fievet Blount and Anne Fievet Lamb of Greenville, S.C.

A grapevine wreath stuffed with various colors of pink and green polka dot tissue paper and a pink and green dotted bow adorned the entrance door. A baby bootie chandelier hung from the living room ceiling.

The chest for the registry at the front door was covered in baby pink chiffon with a green and pink dotted topper and a vase of tiny pink rosebuds and white hydrangeas. decorative three-tiered diaper cake on the front table was given to the mother-to-be. The buffet table was covered white and lime green cloths and topped with a pink, green, teal and mango polka dotted runner. Cupcakes and iced pink cookies served as the centerpiece that was flanked on each side by an apothecary jar filled with ribbons and a square rose bowl featuring bright pink roses surrounded by ribbon.

The table was filled with trays of chicken salad timbales, pimento cheese croissants, ham biscuits, sausage balls and Jeri's famous cheese ring with strawberry preserves and crackers.

From the sideboard guests enjoyed fruit served in a watermelon carved in the shape of a baby carriage surrounded by grapes and orange slices, chocolate brownies and blonde brownies. Mimosas, Bloody Marys, water and tea were served from a round table covered pink and enhanced with a tall vase of bright pink gladioli.

The hostesses presented Mrs. Rainey a gift certificate to be used to purchase a nursery chair.

Special guests included the prospective grandmothers, Debbie Wells of Washington and Patricia Rainey of Buchannan; great-grandmothers, Jean Cole of LaFayette and Sara Rainey of Buchannan; as well as other family members, Kathy Lannae and Melanie Wells of Washington; Angie Herndon and Amy Broadnax of Athens; Robin Shackleford and daughter, Isabel, of Atlanta; and Laurie Campbell and daughter, Montana, of Buchannan.
