The Wilkes County Board of Assessors will hold its monthly meeting at 9 a.m. in Room 202, Wilkes County Courthouse, on Friday, October 23.

The Tree of Life Worship Center on Brown Road will have a Tree of Life First Birthday on October 29- 31, at 7 p.m. Thursday's speaker will be Rich Seibert; Friday, Pastor John Smith; and Saturday, Pastor Ledwellyn V. Turman.

LWREA will meet at the Mary Willis Library at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 8. All retired educators are invited to attend.

Woodville Baptist Church will have homecoming Sunday, October 18, at 11 a.m. A barbecue dinner on the grounds will follow this service. Those attending should bring their favorite dish and share in the food and fellowship. Fall revival services will be held October 19-21, 7 p.m. each evening. Guest speaker will be Rev. Matt Goodman, pastor of Edwards Chapel Baptist Church in Athens. There will be special music each evening.
