      Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. McAvoy Jr. of Washington announce the birth of their son, Weston Larry, on Wednesday, September 16, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. Weston weighed 8 lbs. 7 ozs. and was 21 ½ inches long. He has three sisters, Chelsea, 11, Taylor, 7, and Camille, 2.

Edwards decendants gather in Washington for reunion October 3
      The Etheldred and Julia O. Edwards descendants came to Washington during the weekend of October 3 to celebrate their reunion. The family originated in the part of Wilkes County that became Taliaferro County after the county was divided. Etheldred Edwards is the first of the family to be actually born in Georgia and remained in Georgia.
