There are a lot of bodies hanging around the middle school hallway. Actually, these are paper bodies created by Nikki Bailey's seventh grade life science classes displayed on a bulletin board. The students were studying the body systems. Their project was to create multi-layered paper dolls with each layer depicting a different body system: skeletal, muscular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, circulatory, immune, integumentary, nervous, endocrine and reproductive. Students drew the top layer of the project to look like themselves.

The middle school members of the W-WCHS marching band will experience their first competition on Saturday, October 17. The statewide competition will be held at Collins Hill High School in Newnan. Good luck, marchers!

The W-WMS/W-WCHS media center held its scholastic book fair during lunch hours in the cafeteria October 6- 9. Beta Club members helped sell items and advertise for the book fair. All proceeds benefited the media program to purchase books and materials that support the curriculum.

W-WMS offers many organizations for student involvement. This week is national 4-H week. Members are encouraged to wear green all week.

Eat pizza and help our school! Pizza Hut will donate 20 percent of your purchase between 5:30 and 8:00 p.m. to W-WMS every Tuesday night in October. For our school to receive credit, you will need to present a coupon available from a W-WMS staff member at the restaurant. The money raised will be used to purchase supplies and enhance the students' educational experience.
