The W-WCHS chapter of the National Honor Society held its annual induction ceremony on October 5. The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS honors those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. In addition to congratulating these outstanding young people and their parents, faculty advisor Dr. Margaret Sloan expressed appreciation for Washington's supportive community in which students are given opportunities to develop these important attributes in the classroom, on the athletic field, at church, in the performing arts, at 4-H competitions, and in many other venues. Inductees pictured above are (front row, l-r) Rebecca Wilson, Alaina Weber, Hannah Ward, Mallory Powell, Michael Pharr, Hannah McTier, Kaitlyn Bagwell, (back) John Pope Jr., Josh Fair, Trey McAvoy, Kristin Lukich, Brittany Guin, Joel Fair, and Whitney Branham. Not pictured are Jordan Echols, Joshua Eskew, Jeffrey Hackney, Laura Heard, Yareli Lopez, David Martin, Nicholas Reville, Tiffany Rogers, Jared Wilson, and Jonathan Winkle.
