Mr. and Mrs. Walter T. Medford Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Walter T. Medford Jr. Natasha Elizabeth Malone of Albany and Walter T. Medford Jr. of Fort Stewart were united in marriage in an impressive double-ring ceremony Saturday, September 12, at four o'clock in the afternoon at Springfield Baptist Church in Washington. Rev. Lance Pitts of Washington officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Wylie Jr. of Washington.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter T. Medford of Memphis, Tenn.

Candles with greenery adorned the windows. The altar featured three candelabra interspersed with ferns. Pews were enhanced with tulle, greenery, bows and lights.

Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Johnson of Washington lighted the candles.

Steve Adams of Washington was pianist. Vocalists were Mrs. Kelvin Wingfield of Oglethorpe, the bride's godmother, and Tiwana Turner of Washington. Selections included "Jesus, Center of My Joy," "Ribbon in the Sky," "Forever" and "The Lord's Prayer."

Brandon Adams and LaJulian Roy of Memphis served as best men. They wore black tuxedos with champagne vests and ties.

Groomsmen were Roger Powell of Washington, cousin of the bride; Derrick Banks of Memphis, brother of the bridegroom; Bernard Cleveland of Indianapolis, Ind., and Christopher Dunn of Atlanta, cousins of the bridegroom; and Xavier Harris of Augusta. Their black tuxedoes were finished with purple vests and ties and the bridegroom's with a white vest, tie and pocket handkerchief and ivory rose boutonniere.

Mrs. Lauren Gartrell of Washington was her sister's matron of honor. The bride's cousin, Natalie Freeman of Augusta, was the maid of honor. Their organza strapless champagne dresses featured ruched bodices. Each carried a purple-tipped calla lily tied with purple ribbon.

Bridesmaids, Kristi Medford of Memphis, sister of the bridegroom; Mrs. Latashia Harris of Milwaukee, Wisc., stepsister of the bride; Myisha Rogers and Tyeisha Moore of Lithonia, were attired in long purple satin halter top gowns with ruched bodices.Their purple-tipped calla lilies were tied with ivory ribbon.

Kristolyn Long of Athens, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. She wore a knee-length strapless purple dress and carried flowers matching those of the attendants.

Datavia Acree of Washington, godniece of the bride, served as flower girl. Her ivory dress featured a champagne organza overlay and matching sash. She carried an ivory floral pomander.

Nephew of the bride, Kyce Wylie, and Dontavion Acree, godnephew of the bride, both of Washington, served as ring bearers and their black tuxedoes were completed with champagne vests and ties.

The bride was radiant in her white strapless gown designed with an elegantly beaded bodice that fastened in a corseted-styled back. The organza pickup skirt fell from the fitted bodice to a chapel-length train.

Her veil fell from a jeweled rhinestone headband.

She carried a bouquet of ivory roses, gypsophila and springeri fern with wrapped stems.

Her "something blue" was a rhinestone "I Do" from her mother that was placed on the bottom of her shoe. She also wore a purple amethyst ring from her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Barbara Crew of Athens.

For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Wylie chose a strapless champagne satin top and matching slim skirt with matching accessories. Coin earrings, bracelet and necklace complemented her attire.

The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Medford, wore a bronze satin long dress designed with a spaghetti strap bodice and jacket.

Both were presented wrist corsages of ivory roses.

The bride's grandmother, Mrs. Barbara Crew, wore a Victorian lilac satin top and matching long skirt. Her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Malone of Chicago, Ill., chose a champagne satin suit.

Also escorted and seated with the family were the bride's godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kelvin Wingfield of Oglethorpe. Mrs. Wingfield chose a champagne mock two-piece dress and lace jacket.

The grandmothers were presented ivory corsages.

Reception The bride's parents entertained at a reception at The Pope Center following the ceremony.

Jessica Porter of Washington tended the guest register.

Table were covered with champagne satin cloths and chairs featured matching covers and purple sashes. Eiffel tower vases with floral arrangements centered the tables.

The cake table was adorned in purple satin and decorated with a hurricane lamp. The bride's cake, made by Mrs. Charlene Rhodes of Athens, was a three-tiered ivory confection topped with fresh roses. The bridegroom's cake was German chocolate. Serving cake was Jackie Davis of Washington.

Guests enjoyed a dinner of breast of chicken with wild mushroom sauce, rice pilaf, green beans, rolls and tea.

Hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. LeAnna Cosby of Thomson, Greta Cosby, Mrs. Wanda Jackson and Jessica Porter, all of Washington. They were identically attired in Victorian lilac sleeveless satin tops with matching A-line short skirts.

Mr. and Mrs. Medford are making their home in Albany where the bride is completing her degree at Albany State University. The bridegroom, stationed at Fort Stewart with the U.S. Army, will be deployed to Afghanistan in December.

Rehearsal Dinner

Mr. and Mrs. John H. Wylie Jr. were hosts at a rehearsal dinner on the eve of the marriage of Natasha Malone and Walter Medford.

Festivities were held at Springfield Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

The bride-elect chose a red and black satin halter top and black capri ensemble.

Tables were covered in white and decorated with vases of purple flowers flanked by large martini glasses with lighted votives.

Mr. Wylie, the bride's father, prepared a dinner of fried chicken, broccoli casserole, macaroni and cheese, rolls and lemonade. Key Lime cake, made by and a gift of Mrs. Annie Ruth Neely of Washington, was served for dessert.

About 40 guests attended.
