Cornelia Johnson Circle of FUMC meets October 6 in fellowship hall
The Cornelia Johnson Circle of the First United Methodist Church met in the fellowship hall Tuesday evening, October 6.
Laura Toburen welcomed members and led the opening prayer.
An inspiring devotional, "Autumn Blessing" was offered by Bunny Gunby.
Reports were given by the sunshine and we care committees.
Mrs. Toburen thanked those who helped with the Pre-Release Center party.
Susan Branan asked the Circle to provided cakes, pies, brownies and cookies for the fall festival to be held on Saturday afternoon, October 24.
The Circle voted to make a $100 donation to UMCOR, United Meth- odist Committee on Relief, to aid the flood victims in the Atlanta area.
It was announced the next meal for shut-in seniors will be October 15.
Mrs. Toburen appointed Randee Barry, Bunny Gunby and Ingrid Johnston to serve on the nominating committee.
She also reminded members of the Charge Conference in the fellowship hall on October 26 at 7 p. m. and the next regular meeting on November 3 at 7 p.m., also in the fellowship hall.
Hostesses, Alice Lindsey, Bunny Gunby and Sharon Liggett served delicious refreshments. As all enjoyed refreshments, they viewed a humorous and inspiring video by Patsy Clairmont from the Women on Faith Conference.
Present in addition to the hostesses were June Durden, Jo Randall, Carolyn Reynolds, Gale Seibert, Randee Barry, Ingrid Johnston, Ann Singletary, Ann Cook, Laura Toburen, Susan Branan, Lefreda Adair, Shannon McDonald, Rose Bennett and Marcia Delany.
