Wilkes Ministers United will sponsor a Veterans Day Memorial Service on The Square in downtown Washington Wednesday, November 11, 11:00-11:30 a.m. In case of rain, the service will be held at the Washington Presbyterian Church.

Historic New Ford Baptist Church at Danburg will conduct its annual grounds and cemetery clean-up from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 7. Church members, as well as community volunteers, are invited to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of an historic cemetery that has served the needs of Wilkes County citizens since 1832. Persons participating should bring their own work gloves, boots, weedeaters, rakes, chain saws, and wheelbarrows. Lunch will be served.

The Lewis Family of Lincolnton will present its final concert on Saturday, November 7, at the Lewis Family Pavilion in the Lincoln County Historical Park. The park will open at noon with Little Roy Lewis doing parking lot pickin' from noon until 4 p.m. Food concessions will open at 4 p.m., and the show will begin at 6 p.m. Jeff and Sheri Easter will open the program and the Lewis family will follow at approximately 6:45 p.m. A $10 donation will get you in to a memorable evening of Bluegrass Gospel Music.
