We had a good service at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday. There was good music, good attendance, and great preaching. Dr. Dupree had the children's Bible story and prayer. The adult message was titled "Out On a Limb," taken from Psalms and Luke. There was a fellowship meal after the service. ƒCan you believe that November is already here. Time surely does get by fast these days. The fall is a pretty time of the year with all the beautiful colors of leaves, outshining each other. It's cool tonight and I read that October was the wettest since 1970. I also read that we would have a colder winter, but we will have to wait and see. ƒKenneth Shank of Atlanta spent several days at the homeplace last week. ƒMrs. Betty Jean Crawford of Columbia County spent the weekend with Mrs. Lucille Ingram. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Matthews of Harlem also spent the weekend with Lucille. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll, Connor and Calley also visited. ƒMrs. Troy Brown (Bonnie) spent Wednesday with her sister, Miss Grace Dunaway. Tommy Dunnaway visited in the home last week also. ƒSarah Huff and Linda Standard went to Ft. Gordon Monday for Sarah's doctor appointment. ƒRussell Goldman of Doraville spent Sunday with his mother, Sarah Huff. After church at Mt. Zion, Sarah, Russell, Randy Goldman, Cassie and Bryson had dinner with Linda Standard. ƒWe were sorry to hear of the death of Mrs. Clara Goldman Forrest of North Augusta. Mrs. Forrest was Sarah Huff's sister-in-law, and Russell and Randy Goldman's aunt. ƒTrace Newsome of Jackson County spent several days with G.B. and Sherry Newsome last week. ƒMichael Mathe is currently at National Guard Drill Camp at Kennesaw. He left Thursday of last week and will return Sunday. ƒBobby and Heather Ansley, Daniel Standard, and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Standard and children visited Linda Standard last week. The Chris Standards are in the process of moving from Louisiana to Hilton Head, S.C. ƒI visited my mother, Blanche Wallace, Sunday and had dinner with her. Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. Goff of McCormick and Garnett Wallace also visited. Garnett goes every day to check on Mrs. Wallace. ƒRichard and Brenda Phillips spent Thursday in Helen. Stephanie Haynes, Chip and Skyla of Grovetown and friend, Christine Schneider of Augusta, visited Mr. and Mrs. Phillips. ƒSincere love and sympathy to all who recently lost loved ones. ƒMr. and Mrs. Darrell Standard of Floral Hill visited Linda Standard Saturday. ƒI made five trips to Augusta last week to start treatments. Several friends and family went with me every day. Thanks for all the prayers, cards, food, and visits that have come my way these last few weeks. Also the phone calls have been appreciated. ƒHappy birthday to all who are celebrating birthdays this week, including Scott Davidson on November 4, and Allen Kemp on November 6. ƒOur prayer concerns include Gene Andrews, Gene Bridges, George Hale, Luann Brown, Virginia Hunter, Jenelle Newsome, Margaret Connor, Ann Palmer, Lila Edwards, Mickey Goff, Blanche Wallace, Priscilla and Morrison Maxwell, Warren and Lois Nunn, Eddie Howard, Ronnie Clary, Sanders and Elizabeth Dallis, Helen Burke, Grace Dunaway, Bill Bennett, Stanley Wheatley, Ray Parton, Bill and Fannie Clary, Alma O'Neal, Gene Land, Buddy Thornton, Jack Newsome, Chris McAvoy, Tyler Epps, Linda Albea, Jerry Robinson, Grayson Michael, Rebecca, Thomas Bunch, Ethel Harris, Lucy McCorkle, Dorothy Shank, Lois South, Annie Kate Strother, JoAnn Webb, Jack Strother, Bill Mobley, Bobby and Sarah Nell Myers, Claire Nelson, Ernest Cathey, Ann Gunter, Bennie Hudson, Karan Newsome, Brooke Bentley Parson, Milford Marett, Brenda Bunch, Wilma Harper, Lisa Aycock, Cathy Poss, Don Wheatley Jr., Polly Lewis Copsy, John Owen, Douglas Matthews, Calli Nickels, and G.B. and Sherry Newsome.
