Betty B. Redwine

Funeral services for Betty B. Redwine, 88, of Crawfordville were held Thursday, November 5, 2009, at the Crawfordville Baptist Church with Dr. Ricky Thrasher officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died November 2 in Hospice Atlanta, Buckhead.

Mrs. Redwine was born in Atlanta and had lived the past 30 years in Crawfordville. She was a member of the Crawfordville Baptist Church where she and Rev. Stokes began the "Prayer Chain" and she served as chairman. In 1994 she received the Winnie Davis Medal for outstanding contributions beyond the required duties of membership in the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She organized and reactivated the Alexander H. Stephens Chapter 328, of the United Daughters of the Confederacy in Crawfordville in 1994. She was chairman of the Heart Association for over 20 years. She looked forward to her Saturday afternoon college football games and was a Florida Gators fan along with one of her grandsons, Brandon Boyd.

Survivors include a son, James M. Redwine, Jr., Luthersville; two daughters, Joyce R. Ozmont, and Lori R. Yearwood, Roswell; nine grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers included Brandon S. Boyd, Ryan K. Boyd, Matthew J. Redwine, Dr. David Hall, Brad Carani, and Mark Garrett.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Crawfordville Baptist Church.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
