Andrea Lynn Rollandini weds Colby Lamar Self October 10
Mr. and Mrs. Colby Lamar Self Andrea Lynn Rollandini and Colby Lamar Self, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., exchanged wedding vows Saturday, October 10, at four o'clock in the afternoon at Lee-Fendall House Museum in Alexandria, Va. David P. Himes of Springfield, Va., long-time family friend of the bride's family, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Tom and Marcee Rollandini of Springfield, Va.
The bridegroom is the son of Jerry and Diane Burton Self of Elberton.
A white tent decorated in a fall theme provided the setting for the ceremony.
Gracenotes Chamber Music Trio of Alexandria, Va., presented the wedding music. The bridegroom's sister, Kelli Self Rice of Greer, S.C., accompanied on guitar by her father, Jerry Self, sang "It Is Well With My Soul."
Mr. Self was his son's best man. David Rollandini of Broken Arrow, Okla, brother of the bride, served as usher.
Allison Rollandini of Broken Arrow, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. She wore a berry-colored satin dress with shutter pleats and a sweetheart neckline. The dress was accented with grey peep-toe shoes and a grey beaded necklace. Her bouquet was a striking mix of eggplant-colored Calla lilies, orange Tiger lilies, rust roses and ivy.
Isabella and Francesca Rollandini of Broken Arrow, and McKae Rice of Greer, S.C., nieces of the bridal couple, were flower girls. Their tea-length white taffeta pick-up dresses with scoop-neck bodices were finished with sage green sashes each accented with a white flower. Instead of flowers, they carried wands with white and sage green ribbon attached and twirled down the aisle.
Nephew of the bridegroom, Trevan Rice of Greer, S.C., served as ring bearer.
The bride, escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, was stunning in a white strapless satin A-line gown with beaded detail at the empire waist, neckline and skirt trim. The gown was floorlength with no train. Accenting the bride's attire were Chuck-Taylor Converse high tops with the date, October 10, 2009, embroidered on the sides.
Her veil, made by her mother, was fingertip-length and accented with a rhinestone tiara.
Her bouquet was an elegant mix of white calla lilies and fragrant stock. The old-fashion casual bouquet also included English ivy and Acuba from the bride's grandmother's garden.
She wore a diamond necklace given to her by her bridegroom on their wedding day.
Reception
Following the ceremony the bride's parents entertained at a reception on the lawn of the Lee- Fendall House.
Fall chrysanthemums, cattails, pumpkins, Gerbera daisies, and dozens of twinkling white candles were found throughout the venue creating the celebratory setting.
The reception was a seated buffet dinner consisting of barbecue and all the trimmings. The buffet table was decorated with small votive candles and a large basket of sunny fall flowers. This "memory" arrangement was in memory of the bridegroom's grandparents, Hugh and Margaret Fuller Burton and Hilmon and Martha Self, and the bride's friend, Pam Young. Framed photos of these dear loved ones made all who walked past smile in remembrance.
The dessert table was covered with an heirloom cloth made by the bride's paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Rollandini. On this table was a colorful fall mix of sunflowers, Tiger lilies, chrysanthemums, roses, cattails and ivy. Instead of the traditional wedding cake, the bridal couple chose to have pies for dessert. For the pie cutting, the bridegroom's mother baked sweet potato pies, his favorite. Apple, cherry and pecan were the other flavors offered to the guests.
The couple enjoyed a wedding trip to Emerald Isle, N.C., where they spent time with their parents, siblings, nieces and nephews building sand castles, playing games, fishing and getting buried in the sand.
The couple is living in Colorado Springs, Colo., where the bride is a captain in the U.S. Army at Fort Carson and the bridegroom is a police officer at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.
