More than 100 kids experienced art at weekend's activities

TO THE EDITOR:

We had a terrific day of Children's Art during the ArtFest 2009. Over 100 children came and experienced the many different art activities including painting, drawing, making hats, tie-dye T-shirts, sun catchers, spin art turkeys, cookie art, and rain sticks.

None of this would have been possible without the help of Erin Frost who every year designs the activities and orders the materials - kudos to Erin! This year Karen Stubbs developed and donated materials for two of our activities. Many, many thanks to the volunteers whose tireless energy made the day a wonderful experience for our children. Debbie Holes, Jackie Gale, Karen Stubbs, Janie Cravens, Lisa Isham, Catherine Blount, Dot Jordan, Sharon Ligget, Kathy Dinneweth, Becky Stover, Susan Pope and two young men from the Church of the Latter Day Saints are our heroes. Thanks also goes to Horace Jordan for bringing ASTAR students to the event.

We appreciate your publicity leading up to the event and the wonderful response from the community in saving items for our activities. Thank you, thank you to all who helped to make the Art Experience a success. We'll see you next year!
