Tignall's annual fall festival was 'awesome' with many popular features, entertainment

Children enjoyed the stagecoach rides. Children enjoyed the stagecoach rides. WOW! What an awesome festival. The weather was perfect. The food vendors sold out of food and we gave our of parking spaces, which was great.

The entertainment his year was exceptional starting with Amanda Range singing the national anthem. Gracen Ware and Sylvia Walker were wonderful. Sylvia has such a strong voice for someone who just became 10 years old.

Many people come to the festival every year especially to hear Gwin Ware play and Freddie Brown, Ray Hudson, and Phil Jackson brought all those golden oldies back that we all love.

The Newtown band really brought in the crowds and I can see why. This band is a group of young people from the Newtown area with the exception of one young man. They are a very talented group.

We appreciated the face painter, Mary Lauren Kennedy, who came all the way from Greenville, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Tody Derrick. Kids were really enjoying the hayride, the little stagecoach, and horseback riding with the Bunch girls.

Many out-of-town people decided they had rather be in Tignall last Saturday. This festival is like a homecoming where many people who once lived here come home for this occasion.

Those whom I saw from out of town included Marjorie Gibson of Dallas, Ga.; Evelyn Oglesby, Elberton; Vee McIntosh of Dewy Rose; Gwin and Cliffy Ware of Evans; Charles and Marilyn Heard of Elberton; Owen Hilley, Commerce; Joe and Mark Heard, Anderson, S.C.; Nell Arnolds, Orlando, Fla.; Glen Hendricks and Lynn Barton, Hartwell; Ronald and Carolyn Snider, Martinez; Wesley Garrett, Snellville; Forest and Billie Hines, Winterville; Greg and Gena Tyler, Jordan, Caleb, and Sydney, of Hoschton;

I'm sure I have missed some people because there was a very large crowd on the grounds.

The display of old photographs attracted most of the out-of-town people. Many of them found their faces in the display.

Thank you all for coming to be with us for this special occasion.
