We had a real good attendance at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church Sunday. Rev. Martin had been sick during the week, but was able to come. He preached a good message and he enjoyed talking to the little children during storytime. ƒThe fall festival was well attended Sunday afternoon. The grownups enjoyed watching the kids having fun and playing games outdoors. A supper of soup, salad, sandwiches, and other good things was served, then everyone had fun walking for cakes, pies, and cookies. There were door prizes for everyone. Dianne Pullen was in charge and she did a wonderful job. ƒWe were glad Charles Pullen was able to be back with us. He spent several days in Wills Memorial Hospital then the rest of the week in MCG in Augusta. ƒDavid Hopkins and grandson Seth visited us briefly Saturday morning. They had been hunting but had no luck. ƒMrs. Juanita Bradford, Trudy Sutherland, and Gerry Bradford attended the funeral of Mrs. Bradford's sister-inlaw, Louise Bradford in Milledgeville, Thursday. ƒWillard Lance was a patient in Wills Memorial Hospital over the weekend with pneumonia. He says he is feeling much better now. ƒJames and I attended the 19th annual meeting at Penfield Christian Home Saturday. A nice spaghetti lunch was served. After the business session, there was a special music and several testimonies from former clients. Dr. Will Bacon, vice president for development, with Georgia Baptist Health Care Ministry Foundation, was the keynote speaker. ƒMegan Turner of Elberton visited Iris Dyson and they enjoyed lunch together. ƒ James and I visited Mr. and Mrs. Bud Spinks in Carlton Wednesday afternoon. ƒCongratulations to Brad Sutherland and Blair McMichael who are engaged to be married. No date for the wedding has been set. ƒA lady inserted an ad in the classifieds: "Husband Wanted." The next day she received a hundred letters. They all said the same thing: "You can have mine."
