Graveside service for Chris Bentley, 31, of Lincolnton, were held Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincolnton, with Rev. Paul Reviere and Rev. Deryl Odom officiating. He died Thursday, November 5, at his home.

Mr. Bentley was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County and was a 1995 graduate of Lincoln County High School. He was a roofing contractor.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Louise Hardy and George "Pete" Grimaud III, Washington; father and step-mother, Edwin and Dory Bentley, Lincolnton; grandmother, Dorothy Bentley; son, Thomas Cole Lee Bentley; daughter, Kaitlyn Marie Bentley; the mother of his children, Krystal N. Young, all of Lincolnton; stepbrothers, Joe Grabb, Jonathan Grabb, Jessie Grabb, and Joshua Grabb, of Lincolnton; Josh Grimaud and IV Grimaud of Washington; stepsisters, Brandy Knight of Florida; Dia Winfrey and Andrea Strother, of Washington. He was the grandson of the late Harold L. Bentley and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Hardy.
